Al Salam Compound

This housing compound is located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It consists of 220 housing units, a clubhouse, two swimming pools and generous outdoor gardens and sports areas.

A sewage treatment plant enables the re-use of treated grey water for irrigation.

The massing and site layout create a gradation of building profiles to allow for cross-ventilation throughout the compound and to achieve an inward oriented scheme for optimal privacy.

The individual housing units are designed for energy efficiency. The provision of shading devices maintains appropriate daylight levels and thermal comfort inside the spaces.
